Federal offense to remove an osprey nest........ Hopefully, a few sticks on your bimini doesn't count! I had this same problem when I lived on the Magothy. Only solution was to provide them with a better place to nest. You need something higher with a platform suitable for nesting.

Use a radio and play some heavy metal music. Place it in the helm area for a day or two it should spook them and they will move on to a quieter more suitable nest site.

Maybe I'll put my VHF on channel 68. At times the "noise" on that channel is pretty loud and annoying. That might just do the trick.

I agree with Shawn, make them a better place to nest. It will be cool to watch the chick grow and eventually leave the nest.

There was a goose nesting in an Osprey nest on a channel marker in Selby Bay last year. Wonder if she knew it was illegal!! Must be a tough goose!...........Gary
