Default New Garmin HD Radar

I saw that Garmin announced that they´re releasing some updated radars
What will the actual benefits be with a HD radar?
(From one that just bought a GMR 24)

The main benefit is how the radar image and signal can be manipulated. I am not sure how Garmin intends to manipulate the data, but by reading the specs it looks like the effort will go towards improving target discrimination and clarity. To give you an idea of what can be achieved with digital processing, the new Furuno radars will operate at 2 ranges at the same time. I would assume Garmin will offer some improvements like this at some point.
