Default Angler's broken into - any witnesses ?

Angler's broken into - any witnesses ?
I stopped in Angler's today - more to say Hi then anything. Saw Charlie (owner ) and asked how he was doing. We've know each other close to 25 years - and he asked me to step outside.

He did not want the customers to over hear us talking. I was hoping for some great fishing info but got sad news instead.

Charlie told me some POS had broken into the back fenced in storage area and stolen a lot of items.
The heavy snow fall really hurt the local bait shops - being ripped off is the last thing they need.

The thieves cut the locks and stole a lot of crabbing gear. It was done around March 29th or 30th.
The thieves carried the stolen gear east - towards the bay bridge and hid it behind the small C and P brick building. Charlie and the police figure it took some time and most likely two or three trips in a pick up. The tire tracks suggest a regular pick up - not dually like a flat bed.

So Charlie needs our help. If anyone saw a truck carrying crab pots around that time or has heard of them being sold at bargain pricing - give him a call.
Maybe you drive by to / from work and saw a truck full of crab pots.
Any info will help.
The cameras were not really clear enough to help. The amount of things stolen points to at least two people.

Angler's had stolen :

20 full size galv. pots
20 full size vinyl pots
4 float pens
70 small box traps with pull strings and floats

The big pots do not have rebar - they are sold to water front property owners.
Thanks for taking time to read - hope the POS gets caught.

Very sorry to hear this news Skip. I have a lot of respect for Charlie as a small business owner. I hope he has some insurance/coverage for his lost merchandise and does not take the entire loss.
Hope the find these guys and they get prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

Skip,
Charlie called me the day he discovered it. I hope the POS gets nailed too.

Theft hurts us (bait & tackle shops) more than anything. I hope he nail's them.

Basterds.....

That's terrible, but unfortunately a sign of the times.

Anglers always looked " dark" to me at night, if anything, Charlie can learn from this situation and improve his security to prevent this from happening again.

He would have been covered assuming he purchased your typical property policy.
