Default Wye Mills Report 2-28-11

So Garlien and I went over to the Tuckahoe looking for some Perch action.

Seems that about 40 other people had the same idea today so we didn't stay there too long.

We decided to hit Wye Mills and fish the spillway with the ultralights for a while. Might have been 8 to 10 other people there but they didn't seem to be catching anything.

After about 30 minutes I landed a little Bluegill, and then 3 or 4 more pretty quickly after that.

Over the course of a few hours we caught about 2 dozen fish. Mostly Bluegills, but Garlien caught a White Perch and I caught two White Crappie, one of which was a fair size. He landed a couple of real fat Bluegills.

I caught the Crappie on live minnows and everything else came on nightcrawlers

No Shad or Yellow Perch there yet.

PERFECT afternoon for a day of fishing like this.
