Received an invite to go to the shore and fish some back bay areas in the Honga and areas south. With the wind predicted to be high and rough for the main bay I MADE THE LAST MINUTE DECISION TO GO!!!!! Packed my father and all my gear into the truck and skiff; when I realized I hadn’t replaced the battery in my 14 ft Carolina skiff since one of the neighborhood scum bags stole it. At least the bastards didn’t cut my wiring harness..

Word was there was a good croaker bite!!!!!!
Caught 8 different species of fish
Croaker from 12”- 19 ”
White perch 8”- 11”
Trout 19” --27”
Rock 16” - 19”
Spot 5” -8”
Eel
Toad fish 5” to 5lbs biggest I have ever seen
Small skates the size of a dinner plate which were extremely fun on light tackle. These were skates not cownose rays.

Fished early am and the evening until 12midnight. Perch were more active in the mooring and smaller croaker were mixed in 12”- 15” The evening was the best just after sunset with the bigger croaker showing up 15” – 19” and the few trout.
Fished Friday & Saturday.
Light tackle bottom rigs were used.
Bait : Blood worms Squid Peeler Crab

Peeler crab was the best bait Blood worms second squid third.

Quite the game bag you had there. I love that area just for that reason. Well, that beautiful, clean water doesn't suck either. Congrats on a mission well done!!
