Well the weekend is here and I figured if you don't have a place to go; this has been good for us the last three days.
Western Shore side from radar towers to Breezy in 35-45 ft of water. Wed and Thurs the fish came easily (done by 9:30 on Wed, done by 10:30 on Thurs); but today we worked hard. It might have been the approaching storm and lower pressure, because the fish were still there on the finder. Todays wind made it difficult to circle back on the fish also, so that hindered us as well. We had to go until 1:30 today to fill the box.

The swells were building and the sky was darkening. We started to get phone calls from wives and friends about approaching weather. We had the radio on and cell phones tuned into the latest radar apps. We were going to squeak out that last fish for as long as possible.

For whatever reason (low pressure system or boat slapping the waves) the fish were deeper today and 12-16 oz of weight was best. Previously, 4-10 oz has been the ticket. Damn I love a 15 ft beam. We can run 12 rods off the boat very easily (makes my job easier).

We are running all umbrellas (lg and small) with storm and calcutta lures. We haven't had ANY tails bitten off and we haven't caught any blues. With reports of skates around; luckily we haven't hooked any of them by accident.

Best of luck, we will not be out until next week.

Glad you're in safe, and thanks for yet another great report.

I suppose if you have a boat full of novice fishermen or guys just out for a little fun, reeling in a Skate woulkd be a blast for them. And to people who have never caught or seen one they might find it interesting.

If they wouldn't run all over the place and tangle tackle, I wouldn't mind catching one. But; I would spend too much time with lures out of the water when we were targeting rock.

I can't believe we haven't caught a blue yet. And, I think I've seen a couple drum on the meter. If they weren't drum, they were crocks or gators. They were some of the largest marks I've ever seen on John's furuno.

p.s. I just spent the morning getting some mildew off my cabin carpeting. I have carpeting on the roof and sides of my cabin. I put some white vinigar in a spray bottle and sprayed the inside. Then wiped with a dry towel. It took off all the lightly stained areas. For trouble spots, I used resolve carpet cleaner. It looks much better.
I may just periodically spray the inside with vinigar to keep it clean.

Probably a croc, Marty...or a big wad of my tackle...

Phil and I are homebound this weekend...too much wind and run off up here.

Figuring on a trip to OC to get my boat out for flounder on June 16th...you're welcome if you aren't working.

Man you're not kidding about the wind today. Well...technically yesterday I guess. But I still saw dozens of boats leaving the Magothy to fish yesterday even with the wind and dead fish washing ashore.
