Default Croaker report 6/29

Today was a croaker bottom fishing day

Got out .at about 8 a.m. and fished the mouth of the south and west rivers.

Fished over the shell bottom in 18 feet of water and did pretty good.

As the day got hotter the bite slowed we moved out to Deeper water.

Again over shells near WR 1 the catching continued in 28'

only caught six large spot and saw plenty of rays, somehow we stayed away from them.

Shrimp worked best early but blood worms worked best for later in the day.

back at the dock around noon for a fish fry.

Biggest was about 15 inches but most were probably 13

Nice change of pace and a lot of fun

Jimmy

How many croaks did you catch? Congratulations on finding them! You were fishing the right areas, the live hard bottoms, but finding them this far up can be such a crap shoot.

Pretty cool catching them during the day - most go after them at sunset / dark.

Catching the croaks is nice but not catching the rays is even better!

I'm going to tell my wife about this, and it will be music to her ears.
