Default $50 spoon rod - is there such a thing?

Hey all, here is the challenge - I'd like to put together a combo for running a spoon on a way back in spring / fall trolling. Essentially it's to add to my buddy's spread. I rebuilt a Penn Longbeach 68 that I think will do the trick for the reel. I'd like to spend no more than $50. Is that even possible? Opinions please.

You might find a used rod at Essex fishing flea market next week.
Try the Wish a Fish table right when doors open

A good spoon rod IMHO should be 6'6'' to 7 ' with a limber tip. The soft tip allows the spoon to pulsate just right. A stiff tip arrests the action somewhat.

Try a 7' Billfisher Live Bait rod. Bfaithful runs one for the WWB and it allows a VERY nice action with a spoon.

Drop him a PM.
