Default OT. They are Back....

And if you listen to the "experts", this year is going to worse than ever.

I've killed over 20 in the past two days.

Giving real consideration NOT to plant a garden this year.

I can;t believe I just said that. But they are just going to demolish it like last year.

I put way too much effort into my garden for a bunch of stinks bugs to ruin it.

What are YOU doing about it ?

Did they ever leave? I've been finding at least 2/week inside the house. A friend who lives on a farm throws dozens a week into the fireplace. So I consider myself lucky. They say to look out for their obvious triangular-shaped egg clusters on leaves- destroy them! And they don't stink as much as you'd think. Smell like furniture polish.

I have to agree....I don't think they ever left. I've been finding more since October than I did all year last year.

Anything left out in the garage (detached garage, and not sealed up very well) had thge bastards on it or in it including all of my tackle bags.

These things are bullet proof.

I hang my scuba diving gear outside to dry after diving in the bay.
Last dive was in late October. Now / then saw a sting bug on the gear.

Went to Cozumel , Mexico in December. Took my dive gear and did about 16 dives in a week. Some dives were 90 minutes underwater - others dives we went to 110 feet down.

Came home and put the dive in a large tub of freshwater / soap to rinse off the salt water. Gear soaked 48 hours - then was rinsed and soaked in just freshwater another 24 hours.

Let it dry a day in the bathtub - then used a lube on the zippers.
In one of the pockets of my vest was a live stinkbug.

Unreal what it had been through yet was still crawling away.

Heaven help us come springtime when they come out of hiding.

Here is a scary observation. I took the cowling cover off of my very expensive, 2 yr old, 250 hp Yamaha and found them little suckers all over the place Together with a shop vac and a pair of long needle-nose plyers I got all that I could see. The ones I couldn't see are what scare me

Not sure why but stinkbugs like to get under the outlet plate on electric boxes.

Heard the apple farmers might seek federal disaster relief - stinkbugs are that bad in the groves.

Amazing how fast they are spreading.
