Hey John.....a couple of us have been talking about heading up there. I've never fished there before but I always hear a lot about the YP.

I'll know tomorrow night if it looks possible.

Have you been there yet this year or heard any good reports?

Default North East

This will be my 1st attempt at fishing for anything in 2012. I have been to the Yellow Perch Appreciation Day a few times and usually have no problem limiting out even with the crowd. That is scheduled for Saturday. I just figured the day before should be good. Ele said they are catching from the shore, but more so by boat close to there. I will be sitting in a folding chair with a couple of rods out, I might try some gulps on a small jig head just to keep busy.
Hope to see some familiar faces on Friday.
John

Went to North East Town Park on Friday with Jim (Insanity). We stopped at Herb's and picked up some minnows.
We were the only one's fishing from shore except a few people on the pier. Very slow pick, between the two of us we may have caught 15-20 yellow's, of which only 3 barely made it over 9". I ended up a double hook up twice, then nothing for a long time. I kept thinking aren't these schooling type fish? I also caught 2 12-14" Catfish. AFter lunch the front rolled in, got windy and dropped in Temps. We packed it in about 12:30.

With 3 Yellow's and 2 smallish catfish I had enough for dinner for my kids and myself.

Nice relaxing day, weather was perfect all morning. Good luck to all who try today.

John

Not a bad dinner at all.

We ran into the same problem at Beachwood Park on the Magothy....the clouds came in and the temp plummeted so we packed up. Only caught 3 fish.

Thanks for the report.
