Default FYI - TF renewals automatic for me - not want I wanted for X-mas this year

Just got an email this morning saying I renewed my TF subscription for next year. Not sure I ever agreed to that. I know I wasn't planning on renewing. While the subscriber board is nice, I'm sure it'll turn into a mess sooner or later and I figured this was my new home. Oh well I guess.

If you pay by pay-pal and do it around this time of year, you may want to check on your "subscription".

Happy Holidays,

bob

Bob,
Thanks for the heads up. I would just bmail Brandon and tell him you were not planning on renewing this year and did not know how to turn off automatic. It might make a good point, and yes, the subscriber board will be a mess very soon...it was nicer when it was at the very bottom and very few knew

...and actually, it looks like there is no setting for that. Makes me think Brandon just charged my account without asking. Just say'n.

Mark - I messaged him this morning. We'll see what he says. I'm a student with a 4 month old. I figured this place would fill in for the subscriber board for my fishing fix. We'll see.

Cheers,

bob

It states on the site that renewal is automatic unless you make a notification.......Gary

...and ya gotta hand it to Brandon. Got a reply, and it's supposedly a "pay pal" problem. Looked through pay-pal, and there are no settings for automatic renewal however. Just a "cancel subscription", which I guess you can do at any time. Brandon offered a refund - guess I gotta decide if I want to bother getting the money out of my pay-pal account (which I think stays as a credit...).

Nobody should have a problem cancelling a subscription because Brandon said he doesn't expect to make any money from TF. 5th (Marty)

Mine did the same thing a few months back. I think there is something on the PayPal payments screen that caused this, but I think Lateral Lines prompted it. I am careful to watch for BS auto-renewals and can't believe I missed it. PayPal will put the credit back on your credit card, if that was the payment source...Don

Its worth the $ if only for the search button... this board will be good but the documented information on TF helps. My .02

In Brandon's defense, I recently got a notice that my subscription was about to expire, and that I needed to go renew it if I wanted to. So it does sound likely that there was a glitch or that you accidentally selected some sort of auto-renewal... because it didn't happen to me, which it would have if someone was trying to be sneaky.

I'm tempted to renew just to keep my Bmail open... way too many good contacts in there.

Josh,Have you used Pay-Pal to Renew before? This only happens when you use Pay-Pal.Somewhere......"Auto-Renewal" was turned on when we re-newed with Pay-Pal.......Go to your Pay-Pal Account pull up Lateral Line and Enter "Cancel Subsription"..Hope this helps guys! [Mike]
