Default My Father Wants Some Rock Filets

My father began fishing the Bay in 1963 while serving at Bethesda Naval Hospital, he's probably the reason I fell in love with Rock fishing.

He retired and moved to Michigan seven years ago.

Despite all the bounties of Michigan waters, perch, Salmon, trout, etc, he's yearning for some big thick filets of Rock.

I can catch them, but would like some suggestions on Fedexing them to Michigan.

Anybody ???

I Fedexed some to a friend of mine in Vermont a few years ago...dry ice packaging; next day delivery.

As I remember it was quite expensive but he did get them next day and they were still frozen.

Agree with Ed...Done things similar in the past and or had fish shipped to me...

I would go with dry ice, some type of packing material around the ice and fish...like peanuts or those inflated plastic bags (keeps the cold in even better)....

Make sure the fish is well frozen and you dont skimp on the dry ice...

Another thought is a portable soft sided cooler...One that holds a six pack...Put the fish in there with dry ice, place that in a cardboard shipping box and it stays perfectly frozen....

Good luck !

Pack a cooler , grab an airline ticket and hand delivery them yourself - surprise your dad.

Often there are low fares to Michigan this time of year.
