We didn't enter the tourney, but we fished yesterday and could see a lot of boats near the bridge when we looked that way with the binoculars.

Finally saw some Gannets hitting the water, albeit sporadically at best.

We managed 7 decent fish last night from 18 to 26 inches. Not bad for about 4 hours of fishing.

We had a few knock downs that we out of this world, but the fish didn't stay on. I fought one for about 3 minutes just to have him come unbuttoned about 10 feet from the boat. Damn!!

We stayed near our "usual spot" in 6 to 12 ft of water, and the water was nice and flat.

We had a blast this weekend as well. We fished out of solomons. Our biggest was only 15 pounds, but we had a great time. Water was smooth as glass all weekend .

A lot of our caught fish were deep... Bait was exceptionally deep. I am talking 50' down. Also it helped to turn into the current over bait so that the lures faced into the current. (I am an east west troller to find bait then circle it.. would circle into the current)

We caught most of our fish by dropping the engines into neutral over the large pods of bait. Fish would hit the falling baits and get hooked up when I put the engines back in gear.
