Default Go South young man!

Every time I think of getting a larger boat for chartering, I try to remember that I got away from not being able to trailer with my old 30'x11' boat in order to go where the fish are for memorable fishing trips. This weekend was another example.

Nice schools of fish south. Birds will show you the way! Birds were so thick that I was able to pick them up on my 4kw dome radar out ~3 miles.

No big fish but plenty of schoolie fish from 18"-32". We could have easily jig and caught plenty but our goal was to pluck a big fish or two if the opportunity reared its head. All but one fish came on 6" small baits. When cleaning the fish, the bellies were full of peanut bunker.

Nice catch Greg!! Sometimes it pays to have a big boat, other times it doesn't. That's why you are supposed to have multiple boats for multiple purposes. Often I miss the flexibility of being able to trailer to the bite. (Big boat has made me soft so my 22'CC is too chilly this time of year). The 27 chesapeake is a perfect boat. AND, 4 passengers vs 6 means you have 4 less fish to catch to get a limit.

Nice report. Yes it is nice to be able to trailer to the fish. Right now all I can do is visit my boat on the high dry. Oh well, March will be here soon enough.

Bruce yesterday was the sad day for me, the boat got pulled and winterized...

Hope that there are some good days I can find a pond willing to give up some nice largemouth and pike over the next few months.

Maybe a trip to OC, the CBBT, NC, or Florida might be needed for me...
