Default Solomons Fishing

Since I didn’t get a chance to report last week Ill give everyone a summery of fish Nut season so far down South out of Solomon’s.

Opening weekend was ok weather wise but still relatively crummy. A lot of boats were out chasing fish. Saturday was a good fishing day with an early bite with a quick limit. Saturday fish were biting on the tide shallow and deep. Both Green and white were hit, a preference seemed to go toward white hair with silver sparkle and green sparkle shad, shallow and deep water held fish. Sunday we stayed at port. All fish were 32” – 39”

Saturday 28th once again it was an early bite with a slow pick of fish threw out the day. A lot of bait on the screen some times we had a false bottom on the fish finder. Huge bait balls in different locations, water Temp was 57F. Once again both Green and White caught. I think the weather fronts moving in and out of our area slowed the bite down. I heard of a few skunks being had. People had to work for a few bites. Fish 32” - 38”

Sunday 29th sat out a ton of rain overnight. Headed back out and hoped for a better bite than Saturday but it wasn’t in the cards. all the bait moved down deep. A slow long day of scattered bites, deeper water seemed to be the ticket. Green and white hair lures produced equally. An Early bite once again then once the weather moved past and things started to get nice and sunny the fish seemed to get lock Jaw 29” -38”

Most bite were off the boards 60’ – 80’ back Tandems in 3-5 0z and daisy chains did well.

Even a 6 pack lure I rigged seemed to get some attention

Some guy named Rob made one of the lures that caught a fish or two for us today.

I bet Solomons is going to be NUTS this weekend.
