Default Mike (garlien) = Bad Influence

Well, we had a trip set up today with Bruce on his 36 Judge (Hook 'em). We left the dock close to 8am in a stiff NW wind. The forecasted <10mph was off once again I climbed into my bibs and we set off on a SE course to find some bait and fish.

Bruce's Judge is every bit as nice as Jeff's (Justified). What a platform to fish off of!! All reports were confirming what I had witnessed on two other trips; fish and bait were marked deep, but fish were caught off the boards shallow.

We set out a 6 line spread (tandem, 6 pack, tandem). Both sides the same First fish came at 9:30 on a tandem 5 bars off the board (inside line). The second fish came aboard at 10:15. We had another hookup around 10:30 but lost it half way to the boat At 11 another fish came tight and stayed on long enough to make it in the boat for a quick photo. None of the three boated had sea lice

That was a very productive hour and a half We were in a celebratory mood, so Mike broke out the beer They were the first of many. I'm getting to be an old man. We lost our tide, and the bite stopped. When the tide returned, the bite returned, but alas we only had three knockdowns and no more fish hooked up.

If you had told me were in for 7 bites today, I would have called you very optomistic. It was a great day on the water. Today was the first day I saw gannets diving. The water temperature was still below 46*, but the fish are on their way.

Maybe Mike can post a picture of the three fish. I know of at least one other friend who was north of us and did well today also I will let him tell his own story. Just as a teaser, he was on a Judge 27.

Get your boats ready, tie those leaders, and wet a line. The time is now

Thanks Bruce, for a productive start to the 2013 season.

Thanks for the report Marty. Wish I had a similar report to post, but thats just not the case. I'm guessing we were north of you guys running between the BB and TPL. Launched from SPSP around 8am and called it at 3pm. Saw diving Gannets as well.
At least the boat ran well for our shake down!

Congrats on a great trip! Sounds like they are slowly showing up. Just curious, did the beers stop flowing with the tide or did they pick up while the tide slacked??

No doubt, they picked up

It was fun trip for me, I sat back and enjoyed the ride. I even brought in a fish for a change

It was nice to get together with everyone yesterday. It was a fun crew.
I still don't understand why you guys had bibs on, it was nice and warm in the heated cabin. It was even nicer to have guys set the boards and all of the lines, reel in the fish and release them so I didn't have to get all slimy and smelly. I was also impressed with the Kate Upton video clips.

You must be getting old , Marty. A true bad influencer brings liquor and strippers - not beer. The really bad ones bring video camera and a midget.

Congrats on C/R ing a few.

Skip, that's hilarious, the pic's that Mike is refering to are damned close

I have no idea how he convinced the "Kate Upton" imposter to make the trip with us

I do know we will probably never be invited back on Bruce's boat
