The boat looks good but the builder himself looks a little rough

We were out of Hatteras on Saturday...was that the boat I saw sinking in 3 footers??

Does this mean you are going to drill holes in my hull when you paint the bottom

It is definitely a nice boat and becoming more popular as days go by. the fuel efficiency is the biggest plus and no rot construction is right up there too......Gary

I'm really enjoying my 27CC. I was out chasing gannets Monday in a sustained 25 knot southeast wind and a sloppy 4-5 foot Bay chop. I ran headlong into it between Taylors Island and Cedar Point which gave me a good chance to play with different trim configurations. Best ride was by laying her over with one tab completely down and the other up, high side against the chop. (Thanks to JP Williams for the tip.) I ran hard and came down stern first a few times, but other than shaking a few wires off the electronics, she held up fine. Coming back with following seas, I trimmed all the way up and turned her loose to 30 knots. I jumped a few waves and my son looked a little pale, but the boat did great. This was the third or forth worst seas I've fished in on the Chesapeake.

One of the things I really like about the way this boat fishes is the casting platform up front. If I were a boat builder with the skills of Bill Judge, I would enhance that area by lowering the forward deck a couple of inches below the rail. I considered putting a bow rail up there for added security on rough days, but changed my mind last night when I watched Jamie wrap a 43 incher around the bow like a retreiver pup on leash. And yes, trailering is a breeze. I've pulled her from Kent Island down to Taylors (about 140 mile round trip) four times now.

Thanks Shawn. The one thing I really want to point out is, "trailering is a breeze".

As a person around boats everyday, its really disappointing to see a fisherman buy a smaller boat ONLY because he is afraid of trailering the 27.

Both Shawn and I trailer our "27s" with a halfton truck! I have trailered my 27 Chesapeake from NJ to VA with a 1500 silverado.
