The REAL answer is nuclear energy but we have to get off of the foreign oil dependency. We can't complain about high fuel prices and not tap our own oil supply. We get most of our nuclear power from Canada and if there was an incident the winds would blow it all over us. Better we build our own plants and have more control. We have come a long way since three mile island.........Gary

Total agreement.....need more nuclear.....but don't forget solar, wind and geothermal.....the answers are pretty clear, the application of the developing technologies is the hurdle......the pols don't wanna p.o. Big Oil...

Funny thing about 3 Mile island.......the cause was human error.....all of the safety systems worked as designed when triggered.....never hear much about that.....conspiracy?

"The president's decision to allow energy exploration off Virginia's coast will mean thousands of new jobs, hundreds of millions in new state revenue and tens of billions of dollars in economic impact for the commonwealth," said Gov. Bob McDonnell in Virginia, which is first in line to begin drilling that wouldn't begin for at least five years."

In a priority list, nuclear is on the bottom. Break dependency on foreign oil, is first and foremost. We need fuel for transportation. Solar and wind would be second and third.

Still love the idea of fishing around oil rigs in Virginia
