Quick report gang. Still recovering from Friday Tiki and Saturday 4’ - ????? waves. Had a crew of 5 and headed out of Solomon’s late due to the crew not showing until 6:30am. Lines in at around 7:30 Marked some great bait pods in deep water with nice marks underneath them. Hooked up a nice 40” + class fish that the crew decided to beat in the head with the net
. Had the leader but after the fourth beating the fish spit the hook. Nice release…..
Trolled some more and before I knew it we were South of Hoppers Island light Hooked up 4 more fish. Kept 3, a nice 41”, 35” & 30” plenty of filets for the crew. Around 11:30 a nice big wave flipped the planner board and made a mess of the lines.
Pulled up everything and headed for the barn. I shoved the bow of the Carolina Classic in the waves and she ate all the way home. I love the 24 degree dead rise. Back at the dock by 12:30pm. 3 fish on Chart two on white. 3 on Mylar Fish Nut lures & two traditional. Stayed in Sunday for recovery and riggining….
Good luck guys. I will be back out next weekend.
Lots of sea lice.
