Default Upper bay 11/3

We got a late start, lines in about 9. Hit our usual haunts, only marked a few fish. Went exploring, trying hard to avoid other "Fishermen", let's just as we had a couple interesting moments. Ended up with one 20 and one 25. Lines out about 2. Both on white bucktails.

Spent 3 and 1/2 hours from Baltimore Light to Love Point and all I got was a nice day on the water...

The bait was not close to the ssurface and all of the fish, including the bait, was plastered to the bottom.

It was a little choppy, kinda stayed in deep water. Tried running a couple deep, looking for the big one, no luck. The 2 keepers and a few shorts were in deep water, but hit baits less than 20ft deep.

We had the same situation Saturday from Bodkins out to Belvidere...no bait showing, no birds working, not much on the meter. Absolutely flat calm until noon.

We managed a few dinks, one close to 18" but not worth taking the chance and then a nice feisty 21" that hit a white 5/0 CA in 20' of water.

Ed,

The last couple of weeks that area you were in has had fish consolidated near the points and in less than 20' of water...The channels really have not turned on yet....

Thanks for sharing your reports guys. I've been away from my boat for far too long - but really looking forward to this weekend.

I'm torn between launching in the Patapsco or Sandy Point (and then fishing the mouth of the Magothy). Either way, a nice day out with my kid brother will be just what the doctor ordered.

Hope to hear y'all on 68. Good Luck.

My neighbor is still catching around Baltimore Light, but said if he starts getting anywhere near Podickery it's a waste of time. Maybe the bottom is too boring there for the fish.

Wink

Thanks for the heads-up...

Looks like the weather is going to make a major change between today and Saturday. So still a game-day decision for me whether to fish the Magothy or the Patapsco...

I'll keep paying close attention here at CBAngler...

Thanks again guys - I'll post my report (with pics) when I'm done this weekend.
