Default 24 May

24 May - Planer boards stayed on the dock. Ran 10 boat rods.

The morning was a little tough. Decided to try the 82 area. Threw the junk in the water about a mile from the edge only to find when we got up to it that it was covered with crab pots. Tried to work the area, picking up one over but after about 2 hours we gave up since we couldn't fish where we wanted.

Picked up and ran down to Breezy. Honest to God, we must have caught 30-40 fish but only had 6 keepers. 90% of the throw backs would have been keepers last year. You could see fish on the meter tight to the bottom. You had to bounce you deep rods on the bottom to get them.

On the upside, the party was three Guatemalan families who fed us - nothing like homemade Central American food!

The afternoon was better. Went just a little further South and banged them up as we were setting lines. 6-7 fish in the box in the first hour and then it kinda shut down - picked at them for another two hours and were up to the point we only needed one more when the party said they wanted to go in due to sea sickness.
