"Same Spot, Different Day."

Mike and I went out around 11am yesterday and hit our usual spot for about an hour. The wind and tide were working against each other so we went back into the creek looking for some small fish fun. Strike 2, as no bites there either. We had lunch and a few drinks and decided it was time to head back to bigger water. Good call. Within maybe 30 minutes we had our first fish on the boat....just a hair over 24".

The wind had calmed and the tide was moving in our favor and we took full advantage of it. Over the next few hours we ended up catching 9 fish, with a few being undersized. All of them went back to grow bigger and purtier.

Ended up with about 6 boats in our area, but didn't see anyone else land anything.

As usual, all the fish were caught in 6 to 12' of water over a rough bottom.

I hate when that happens. That's been the story of my season this year many times, but you go when you can go. Thanks for posting, and I'm glad you made some lemonade...

Being a freshwater Bass fisherman I LOVE catching Rockfish up to 28 inches...feels "normal" to me. I know that by comparison to others, I'm not catching "big" fish but I alwys come home with a smile on my face, and when the weather isn't cooperating, I know I can still get some pullage without the risk of drowning.

BUT, I'm starting to dig this strange new thing....I think it's called, "trolling"....

I bought something special today for the next time we get out into the big water.
