Congrats to Dale Dirks, who was Maryland Capt of the Year and Bluewater Capt of the Year, and Lee Tippett, Maryland Bay Capt of the Year.

While winning tournaments get you the big prizes, the Capt of the year gets you big bragging rights. It is done on a points system and more based on an aggregate of fish caught in the MSSA tournaments. It takes more than just one big fish to win.

I know Dale but I don't know Lee.

My friend Ken Platt that I fish with alot was the runner up finishing a respectable 2nd place and missing the mark by 7lbs. He was in 1st place after the Spring tourney and we gave it hell in the Fall tourney with catching lots of fish around 25lbs, we just couldn't hookup any fish over 30lbs.

We had a great time fishing and gave it a good run...It's very satisfying knowing it was all done by our efforts!
