We left the launch around 0615 and started trolling the mouth of the Severn shortly after. Water temp was 76 and sizable fish were marked at all depths, but did not take the bait. I took 2 friends from school out and trolled my usual 4 rod spread that has been trustworthy all summer. 3 BFG tandem rigs and a bucktail up top for good measure. At around 0830 we reeled up and set off to look for spot around Tolley's. Current was vicious! I had to set it up where we could drag anchor at .5kts through the perch bite (and 1 bluefish). No spot though, so live lining to wake these monster marks was out of the question. We trolled around a bit more without luck, but then saw flocks if birds hitting the surface in the middle of the bay. We sped over and trolled through while casting into the boil. Nothing on the troll, but storm shads produced lots off the top. No keepers but fun fights. We chased the boils around for fun and that's about it. The water was rough and it drizzled on and off. I blamed the trolling failure on the full moon. I've only fished here 2 seasons and that excuse worked in Louisiana where in from
Looking at other reports it sounds like there wasn't much luck out there. Good luck next time y'all! I hope this helps.
