Default Pissed Off

Well, a little rain has to fall on everyone; so I guess it was my turn. I went down to the boat today. As I stepped from the dock to the deck, I noticed shoe prints. This ain't good. My eyes went directly to where my HDS8 should be, and saw nothing but wires. A quick check around and found nothing else out of place or missing.
I looked at the other boats in the marina and saw the same thing on all the expensive components. Thieves hit six boats. They ripped the dash out of the boats that had flush mounted electronics
Maybe they were there last night during the storm. All that thunder, lightning, and rain means nobody is going to be around their boats.
I was fishing on Wed., so it had to happen Wed. or Thurs. evening.

You work hard to get nice stuff, and somebody comes along and steals it from you. Maybe it's part of the Redistribution of Wealth that our President speaks so highly of
Looks like with my deductible and depreciation, it's going to cost me a pretty penny to replace it.
Just called BoatUS and put in a claim for the loss. I'll let you know how it goes.

Damn! That does suck Marty. I feel pretty secure where my boat is but I always have a little anxiety every time I walk down the dock.

Hope the insurance treats you right.

Did they tear up the wiring or did they just unplug it?

Unplugged, but now I worry my Gen1 cables ( including SS/DS) may not match a new Gen2 head. Anyone know?
Of coarse my Nav Chip and all waypoints are gone too

That sucks buddy.

Not sure if I have any of your waypoints but you're welcome to look on my GPS for numbers.

Be sure to contact DNR - often marine thief gets caught. Kinda a limited field - thankfully.

The DNR nabbed the POS stealing boat batteries not too long ago.

It's way over my head but there is a boat alarm system that will call your smart phone. Think it's motion activated - might be worth looking into.

Not to wish you bad luck but thief might strike again - knowing brand new replacements are on the boats they hit.

DNR sent an officer. They will be checking pawn shops. I have some friends checking flea markets. I'll keep an eye on Craigslist. They took a lot of electronics, they will be looking to unload them.

Default Excellent!

Marty, this is great news! Really nice to hear that crime has not paid in this case.

I have a bunch of Lowrance knobs in the bsmt collecting dust if Jim can't find a set. You certainly can have a pair if you need them.
