Default VA Beach

Anyone planning to fish VA Beach this weekend? I had hoped to squeeze in another trip Saturday but the wind forecast looks less than optimal. Anyone else planning a trip?

I don't know my friend.. WX forecast just isn't in over favor. Last two weeks two trips to Wacha have been canned. Fish don't seem to be there either. Figures cause I'm off till the first. If you decide on something, call me..

The wind and cold nights that are predicted this week , sure won't make the fishing any worse then what it is right now.

Just got back from a three day trip, ( Sat , Sun, and Mon ) and the fish that were being caught the last few weeks are gone. The front that moved in last Thur. and Fri I guess moved them way offshore and probably some of the south.

We ran everywhere. North, south , east to the line , in the bay and north of the tunnel . Nothing ! A lot of boats fishing CH and a lot of skunks. Even the fish that the offshore Tuna guys were catching are gone.

From past experience, fishing's usually not good after a blow, but just couldn't pass up the great weekend and gave me a chance to get away from the wife for a few days. Not sure what this next front will do but like i said, can't make it any worse.

Good luck if you go.

I guess the bigger launch areas keep the ramps free of ice, but I know for a fact the smaller and less frequesntly used ones are frozen in tight already. And with the high temps not predicted to break out of the 20's for the next 2 days it's not going to be any better.

Figures too.....I just got a nice 18' center console to use for the next few weeks at my discretion. I was going to go out and do some Pickerel hunting in the upper Magothy.

Oh well. I f$*!ing hate the cold weather anyway.

I bagged the trip. My boat is in VA beach now. I'll either go fishing on Saturday next weekend or just drive down and get the boat next Saturday and trailer it back north.

I hope this cold weather doesn't push them into N. Carolina waters where the trawlers get a shot at them again this year.

Me too !! I They really put a hurt'n on them couple years ago.

Was it 2010 when we had that real cold weather and the fish were South 40 miles offshore , and there was a lot of talk of the trawlers being out there ?

The worst part of all of this, the trawlers are the law makers in NC. You can complain all you want, it's a losing battle.
