JB...Nice fish. Congrats on the personal best. I have bent down the barbs on my singer hooks because I just dont see the need to have them. It does not see to affect my catch rate. Tim

Excellent report! I think this board should have a "no apologies" clause. I'd have loved to have seen that bird show!

No problem here. I am as gentle with them as I can be. However, trying to get a big fish unhooked when he is ticked may require him to come in the boat. Sometimes it is a battle to get them unhooked without me becoming hooked.

I have a couple minutes of video if you'd like to see it. It's definitely not like being there but it will give you an idea of what it was like.

Amen! We should agree to reserve the ball-busting to anything BUT fishing "ethics".

Nice catching. Don't sweat deep hooking a fish - it happens sometimes no matter what.
