Default Fishing Report, Sunday, August 29

Left CB around 6:00 AM.. with no real direction or plan, we headed up to EBAY, to see what all the commotion is about. Fairly crowded at 7:00 AM, with most most traveling at 6 knots. We don't troll. So birds were our goal. Big ole chickens abound, but they were taking the morning off.

So we headed down the Eastern side, and eventually ended up at across from the Pax. We REALLY have been trying to figure out where the flatted things are, and after about an hour of our final quest, they just ain't there. Last year was so simple.. This year forgetaboutit.

So we headed back up the West side, saw a little commotion at the Gas Docks, but nothing to stop for, past the PP, up to Parkers.. Not a boat in sight. Water quality in Western just sucks. So back to Sharps Island Light.. Found some pods of blues with a few small rock mixed in. Metal was required. Not satisfied, and the day was young, took the back way up to EBAY... Just a few trollers and not a bird insight. Headed out to the channels edge, managed a few more blues and one legal rock for dinner.

Called it a day, back at CB by 2:30. Home by 4:00.. Nap at 4:15.

Were gonna call this year a bust. With the same ole gripes everyone else has.

No Birds, poor water quality, less bait.. young juvies.. I know the years not over, but without a flounder, legal or otherwise, and alot more traveling required, this year just sucks.

Waiting for October to save the year.....

Have to admit the perch have been great, the hard heads so so, Rock and Blues just don't even seem to exist compared to last 2 years....As you said, hoping the next 3 months bails us out....

I've just seen lods of gulls sitting on the water waiting for things to bust loose, but I havent been out there when its busted loose yet this year. I only managed a couple of blues this weekend, and even some of them were under the min 10" mark.

The good fishing has been south of Hoopers island my friends tell me. Tangier sound has been great, Bloodsworth, south marsh, spring, adam, holland and smith have been very good.

It's been a funky year to say the least and a mixed bag for me. My buddy Norm thinks that this year has totally sucked and that's because Thursday night out with the boys has been largely a bust.

On the other hand, I've had some great trips with my wife and others. I'm hoping that fall will be good, and I'm looking forward to it...
