Default Talkin about boats again

Things are a little quiet on the board now that the Md. striped bass season has ended, so I thought I would just relate this little story that happened yesterday.

First, a little background. My wife has accused me of always talking about fishing, or the boat. Now I don't see this as a bad thing, but I guess she gets saturated some times.

Well the other night we were out with friends. We were at our local watering hole "Howards Subway". All evening, we spoke about grandchildren, the holidays, work experiences, and a host of other topics. The beer flowed freely, and I even had a drink I used to get years ago. I asked the waitress if the bartender could make a "singapore sling". Well not only did they make it; it was good. It was good enough to have a couple.

So, the evening comes to an end, and as we are walking to the truck, we pass a small "garden" outside the door. My wife tells the other woman in the group, "I think that's rosemary (a herb)" in the garden. My friends wife reaches out and grabs a bit of the plant and says to my wife, "Here, smell my fingers".

I start laughing and everyone is looking at me like, "What"? So I say, "that's something you won't hear on a boat with a group of guys onboard".

So I almost made it the whole night without turning something into a boating experience.

OK; so who wants what for Christmas?
I got "rocket launchers" from the wife, and Capt. John was kind enough to give me three new Ande trolling rods to replace some of my older gear.

Have good Christmas.

Actually, I frequently ask people to smell my fingers after using the bathroom.....followed by, "Do you think I'm getting sick?"

Can't think of anything I really need fishing wise for Christmas, except maybe a litte more free time.

(Don't tell Mike I'm posting this from my office.)

Just remember....you're not gay as long as you beat him up afterwards.

Marty- I didn't realize our wives were related? Mine is saturated as well. She is so happy that fishing is over that I feel obligated to switch full throttle into hunting mode. That is a vice I'm am trying to ween off of though. Gets kinda pricey when you're stupid about buying gear for hunting AND fishing. My thought is if I'm giving one up, it ain't gonna be the warm weather one with women in bathing suits!!

As far as Xmas goes, I am very fortunate to not have to want for much. I work my butt off but it pays the bills with a little left over. In this day and age, that's a good thing! A little more time to enjoy the hobbies sure would be nice, but I think that's probably too much to ask for.
