Default Solomons 11/18

Headed out at about 7:30 from Solomons. We ran to HI and and dropped lines on the W edge of the channel. We picked up a 27 incher right away on a chart tandem about 80' out. About an hour later, we picked up a 30 incher on a spoon umbrella 250' out with 3oz on it. Then we picked up a 38 incher on a deep umbrella. The bigger fish were caught in deep water--90 to 100 feet.

It was pretty snotty out there, but we stuck it out and picked at some decent fish. There was a point where we saw HUNDREDS of birds working and we trolled all over 'em with nothing to show for it. There were about 10 boats that did the same, but didn't get any fish either. Really ant-climatic!

Joe Dirt
P.S. We checked all their stomachs and found:
7 menhaden
3 eels
9 baby crabs (2" to 3" wide)

Wow Joe Dirtbag,

What a mediocre trip. If you need some fish to eat, let me know. I'll be more than happy to help you out.

Thumbs down

Well, well, someone gets their big fish cherry popped and their head gets swollen. Been there, done that, junior.

I have plenty of meat, thank you. Unlike you, I didn't tuck my tail between my legs and go home when the waves got over 1'. I stuck it out like a manly man and caught three decent fish.

P.S. You're an a-hole for killing a fish over 40"!

Of course you didn't get off the water yesterday..you fish that sissy ditch around Solomon's. It's a good place to learn but sooner or later you got to take them training wheels off man. Come on down to the big water and hang with us if you got a pair.

p.s. of course I kill fish over 40". Ever since I learned that they will die anyway, why not?

p.p.s. Just to make it official...
