Default OC needed new lure

I have to apologize for a no report. Went to OC 3 weeks ago ended up with nothing. You know the story should have been here yesterday.........

When we arrived at the OC ramp the lot was packed. The area around the Delaware / Maryland line was loaded with boats trolling. The coast guard and dnr were in and out of the mix of traffic.... as we went north and south along the coast line. 3 miles is very constraining. This is a lot smaller area than everyone makes it out to be. Dnr had no problem patrolling the area. The boats comming in from further offshore aka sea bass ect stood out.

One thing a lot different is the tackle needed for the bass in the ocean. He vier lure were the preferred choice. 8 Oz - 32 Oz baits in tandem.

Justices was served for my friends fishing oc last weekend while I worked Saturday and sunday. They managed a boat limit of migratory fish using heavy combo in 40- 60' of water, all boat rod's.
Reciving this info I had to disappear into Fish Nut labs and come up with something!!!.

How is it possible I wouldent have the correct lure.

Added some heavyweight to the arsenal.

The bottom lure is a 2 Oz then 4 Oz , 8 Oz , 12 Oz and the top a 16 Oz monster.

The 2 and 4 have 8/0 hooks the 8 has a 10/0 hook the 12 and 16 Oz have 12/0 hook.

Now time to paint.

Good luck gang

I fished out of oc yesterday and it is a different style of fishing than the bay. We ran all deep rods with tandems, some up to 32 oz. So I can see a market for big heavy parachutes, 16, 28 and 32 oz.

One good lure is called a " cue ball " - it is a white 32 oz MoJo that looks like a cue ball - hence the name.

The better MoJo's feature a swing hook - helps prevent hook from being shaken out.

We fished out of Va. Beach with these - it was cool to be able to let lures hit bottom with no fear of getting black ooze / mud on them.

Often the lures bumping now / then did best. Never happened to us but a few 6-10 lb Flounder were caught like this - talk about cool bonus fish.

Great to hear DNR / CG patrolling the fleet.
