Thumbs down Crabbing Report 8-14-2010

Tried crabbing Saturday with limited results. Baited the line up fresh and anticipated a early day with a basket. WRONG!!!!! Saturday AM I was at the ramp early and greeted by a flood tide. I was hoping it would move. First run of the line I had one keeper and three small crabs. Continued running the line until 8:00am with similar results. Called a few friends who were crabbing in different location and everyone gave the same report SLOW. Eastern shore slow Western shore slow.

Ended the day with 18 crabs. Came back to the ramp and the tide was still high. Marina owner reported crabbing has been slow and the tide has been supper high. On Friday the water was 4” over some of his piers. On Sunday the water was still up.

When the tide moves again we should have a good run of crabs.

Good luck gang.
