Default No wind/quick trip

I wasn't planning on hitting the water today, but when I stuck my head out the door I didn't hear the usual leaves on the trees thrashing about I got a few things done and headed for the boat.

As I turned the corner out of the creek, I was pleasantly surprised to see very little chop and headed south.

Birds and breaking fish were everywhere. I guess they have been waiting for the winds to die too

I would estimate about four miles of birds and breakers. The tide was running out at a good clip and the winds were behind me as well. I could set up a drift that took me from one pod of breakers to another

Unfortunately, I didn't find any keeper rock (most were 15-17 inches) and blues were small to average size (12-15 inches). Fun to catch on light tackle, but I was looking for bigger rock. It was going to be a C/R trip as I had no ice and it got warm in the late morning/early afternoon.

Never found the bigger fish, but I had fun anyway. I couldn't believe there weren't bigger fish mixed in with the small. Look at the marks on the finder I thought for sure some 22-24 were under me

Got back in the slip around 2pm and ran to pick up the wife from work. I had a hankering for an Orange Crush at Mike's North. BUT, they are closed on Mondays so we hit another place. The wife wanted steamed crabs That took a bite out of my "fuel stash"; but it was worth it The crabs were full and fat; and the beer was cold.

All in all, it was a good way to shake off some cobwebs and charge the batteries.
Good luck to anyone headed out tomorrow.

Sounds like a good trip.Last trip I took was a ambulance ride to hospital Saturday nite with severe chest pains. Heart attack has been ruled out but after seeing four different specialists in two days and not one of them have a clue. Just laying here in bed with severe pain waiting for someone to come up with a reason and cure so I can get out on the water!

Mike; so sorry to here you are in the hospital. Didn't you tell me you had lost a lot of weight unexpectedly? Be sure to tell them that so they can factor that into your assessment.
I hope it's as simple as gall bladder.

Thanks for the well wishes guys, didn't mean to hijack the thread but board outta my mind laying in this bed. Defiantly not a gall bladder, already be removed, but reminds me of the same thing. I was down boat Saturday evening talking with jay and Mary Ellen around 7 and bam in a ambulance heading to hospital at 10. It is truly amazing how quick your life can change. Thanks again for the well wishes , keep them posts coming, and I'll keep you posted.

Good luck and feel better Mike...

At least the days you are missing are mostly windy and rainy...

On the bright side, think how much it is going to mean to you the next time you get out...

One day you, Marty, and I need to head out and have a "Bodkin Bunch" fishing trip...

Get Well !

Garlien (Mike) is right; you're not missing much as far as fishing goes. Plus; the upper bay should be a mud hole for awhile.

My boat sits just outside my house I figured it would be a good idea to pull it during this rain; and, also figured my next trip may be on the trailer south, looking for clean water

I hope the pain gets relieved. Lay back and catch up on some reading. Are you in BWMC (the old North Arundel)?
