Default A fishing story

New livelining bait alternative

Left the dock at o’dark thirty on a Sea Kitten expedition, right away ran into problems finding Little Sea Kittens (spot) in numbers great enuff to go feed to Striped Sea Kittens (rockfish) and Commie Sea Kittens (blues)……quite the dilemma.
Had to return to the dock to get my cell phone which I had left in the truck charging……now this year our marina has been totally run over by ducks…….must be something in the water cause it’s August and they’re still breeding like crazy…….and sh#tting all over the place…..the dock, the parking lot, folk’s boats, parked cars….it’s just outta control.
So I pull in and theres this pest-control guy trapping these ducks……momma, poppa and ducklings……….now I get to thinking so I ask what he’s gonna do with them and he says there gonna be killed……..so I asked for a dozen of the plumper ducklings……..now we’ve all seen the ducklings disappear in the spring to fish, snappers, hawks, etc…..
So with ducklings safely in a box I head for the super secret LL spot and drop anchor on some good marks….
So ya kinda Ignore the peeping and put a 5/0 thru the scruff o’the neck just ahead of the wing joint and set them over the side……lil buggers just take off…..leave your rod in free spool….like fishing with a bobber.
Well had a couple out when suddenly there an explosion of water and the first bait just gets crushed….set the hook and brought in a nice 26” Striped Sea Kitten……one in the box.
The next couple baits got crunched by Commie Sea Kittens……think potato chips will draw fish?.....
try feathers !
A while later another topwater explosion with a big tail swish and …..FISH ON!
After a good fight land a fat 34” SSK for dinner….as I put him in the cooler he spits out the lil yellow and very wet bait……still alive……just dazed a bit….lil buggers are tuff!
Had an Over/Under limit for the day so put the remaining baits back in their box and headed for the barn…..tomorrow’s another day.

The Duckling Post was made up by a group of fishermen relaxing over beverages one day.
The Duckling Post was deleted (without comment) from another board.
I want to let everyone know that the post was made as a joke…..completely in jest.

For those who enjoy the post and understand it’s a satirical joke, I hope you get a good laugh.
For those who are offended by the material, please accept my sincere apologies…..no offense is intended.

Those who may be tempted to try ducklings as alternative bait, Please DON’T.
It’s a violation of both State and Federal game laws, not to mention inhumane and cruel.

Ducklings in the wild have a hard enough time surviving to adulthood, they are prey for hawks, eagles, osprey, fox, cats, snakes, large fish and snapping turtles among others, they don’t need any additional help from us.

You had me going for a minute, I won't lie! I was reading the story and the entire time I was saying to myself, "no way this guy is that cruel"!

Good read and good laughs.
