Default What a grind

Just so everyone doesn't get the impression we go out and nail them everyday; today was a grind. No rain in the early am. We ran out front and set lines. Bang, a nice fish in the box after only 15 minutes. Reset the line and trolled, and trolled. About an hour later, another fish comes over the side.

Then, fish get lockjaw. We see them on the meter, but no one is interested in tasting my lures (I guess we "educated" them too much during C/R)).

I reset one side of the boat looking for trash on lures, and even lenghtened the distance off the board lines just in case they wanted something deeper.

Stories were told, jokes were told, politics discussed, and still no bites. Lunch was cooked and served, still no bites.

Finally, the bite turned on and 4 were boated in an hour. With 6 in the box, we headed in at 1:30pm.

What a day. I kept watch on other charter boats (nobody lighting things up). I used binoculars to count clips on other charters. I figured if they had a lot of clips dangling, they were having a good day. Hardly a clip swinging free. Most were in the same situation as us.

Earned my money today!!!
Headed out early tomorrow in the wind. Guess I'll earn it tomorrow as well!!!

Headed to bed after "Big Bang Theory".

At least you have 6 happy customers.

I just missed you this morning I guess. Looked foggy as heck around 6:30 at Deale Harbor
