Default Slow pick BPL

Slow pick today at BPL. We spent too much time chasing birds in shallow on dinks and bait then trying too deep for a slob. Fish today were 45-55' of water. We ended up with 3 fish for the cooler and 3 or 4 bites that never made it to the boat. (fish were hanging on the stingers).

Nice looking boat We found a nice pod of fish and picked a few keepers off of it. Most were 26-27 inches; only one over at 31 (5 total).

Greg - the dinks under birds was what saved our short afternoon jigging trip. We were jigging perch and YOY rock on stingsilvers at 84a in 60-70' when I pulled out the binoculars and spotted birds working in 25-30' off Franklin Point. Ran over there and first fish to hookup was upper 20's fish that spit the stingsilver when she was only halfway in the net. Within an hour or so we had 6 barely legal rock in the cooler. The 3 boys I had with me were ecstatic about catching nonstop as we moved from pod to pod of fish under birds. Some were barely legal, some barely short... all fun, didn't matter! Another great last trip of the season.
