Default Memorial Day at the beach

If you are heading to the beach this weekend and plan on surf fishing take a peak at this link;

http://www.stripersonline.com/surfta...=Reading+Water

Don't miss the link at the top of the page for another "reading the water" thread posted earlier.

This was posted a few years ago and Sue Foster of Oyster Bay Tackle has thankfully kept the link in her fishing reports. I believe this is the best explanation of reading the surf around and it WILL help you catch more fish.
Also check out Sue's fishing report;

http://atbeach.com/fishrpt.html

which is update through yesterday. Sue's reports and shop are top notch. Arrive early for fresh bait or call ahead to see if she'll hold some for you. You can also drop a cast net behind 2nd St. in the canal. There are rock being caught on the surf. I'll be fishing the surf from 6-8:30pm then heading to the Rt 50 bridge for the night bite.
If you plan on going down drop me a line.
Enjoy Memorial Day!
