Default How many rods do you troll

My typical spread is between 9-13 rods. I have trolled as many as 17 with tridents but prefer a 12 rod spread with 100' of boards. I mostly run 5 off of each board and 3 deep or 4 off each board and 4-5 deep

Just seeing what most are trolling.

Right now doing 13 (8 board/5 boat) but hoping to expand to 15 (adding 2 boards) by next Spring.

we're running a small CC so we only troll 4 rods....if we troll
might try boards but i don't have a tie off point very high off the water to connect the boards.

there are only a few weeks out of the season that we even break out the broomsticks...we prefer to LTJ whenever possible.

13 lines in all. 4 umbrellas off each planer line. 2 deep boat rods with 16 and 24 oz. inlines with big umbrellas. A dummy line, (lots of fun) a downrigger rod off the transom opposite the dummy, and a WWB with a small umbrella.

I normally run 10-12 rods in my spread. I run planners with 100’ of line with the let back they are roughly 65' 70’ off each side normally take out 5 total with a max of 6 anglers on the boat trolling. Last year during a skunk day I had 14 rods out. It didn’t get the skunk off.

Evidently more rods didn’t equal more fish that day.

I'll run anywhere from 3 rods (out alone for a couple hours) to the Full Monte of 19 rods and 2 dummy lines.......and anywhere in between depending on season, crew and conditions.

I thought I posted earlier today, but I can't seem to find it now. Anyways, we troll 13 lines total. Four umbrellas off each planer line, One heavy boat rod off each side, one 16 oz, one 24 oz. A dummy line off the transom, and a downrigger off the other side of the transom, and finally a WWB down the middle with a small umbrella. Mark.
