Default A 2013 Diamond Jim caught on the Lucky Strike out of Deale

Live lining is still wide open. Third fish of 10 today was a 2013 Diamond Jim tagged fish. Still haven't gotten my boat back in the water...maybe next week.

Where the fish is tagged looks red and infected. Congrats on the fish, how much was it worth?

The customer called back yesterday. DNR confirmed this was the first 2013 tagged fish reported. They did not tell him a dollar amount but they have made an appointment to come inspect the fish and have told him he would be required to take a poly....then they would tell him. Not sure they would go through the trouble and expense of a poly for a $500 fish.

Do not hold me to this but I think it works like this.

There is $25,000.00 for the 1 true " Diamond Jim " tag. No one knows the tag number until few days before event in Sept.

If that one tag is not caught - then the $25,000.00 gets divided equally among the anglers who caught Diamond Jim impostors. I think last year about 12 were turned in but only seven or so passed lie detector. Each angler got around $ 3,500.00.

So right now - the angler stands to collect $25,000.00 if no other tagged Rock are caught before Labor day.

That is reason for lie detector test.

Used to be the impostors were worth $500.00.

Congrats on getting one.

Thanks for the info Skip. Maybe I need to get the customer to come back for some poly "coaching" - I just had my periodic, work related poly last week - I could give him some advice like relax and just tell the truth...LOL

Looks like you guys had a good day with Dale and Jesse....you should have give Jesse a hard time about wearing a Bay Lady T-Shirt on Dale's boat.

Hopefully she's worth a bunch of money and he uses it to book more trips with the guy who put him on it! Tipping very heavily each trip of course
