I thought about the secret. The good thing is, you know I caught my fish within 75 miles of there. Much less potential for extreme pressure out of there. They won't be in the same spot tomorrow, and there's not an 18 mile long man-made structure to concentrate them.

One observation - the big school of fish we were on (probably over an acre) was on the move SOUTH and I mean fast.

We also caught an isolated fish here and there on various humps... sometimes with no marks associated with it.

Slayer - there were a few other boats eeling/trolling within a mile of OC inlet, but once we left them to go searching, we never saw another boat within 2 miles of us for the rest of the day. We had a gull/gannet storm to ourselves for over an hour.

Josh - Thanks again! Amazing time! (as all trip are)

Francis - How true. Every time you set the hook you knew it was going to be a real nice fish (unless you were the "dog slayer" ie josh who i think caught 4 dog sharks. ha)

Not everyone can LTJ a dogfish ya know! In fact, I bet many people on this board have never caught 4 dogfish in one day on BKDs. I may be up for an award, or at least a promotional package from Steve!

Fish nut - it was some Jersey reports that convinced me that we hadn't in fact missed the train, as some suggested to me.

Josh,
There is a tight network of guys who fish the ocean for rock and blues in the winter that can shorten those 75 miles. We'll be going down for a trip or two this year. One of us will post b4 going and the more guys we have the faster we'll find fish.
