Default 4/7/11

Water temp, 49.5* around Metapeake
Best bait seen in 55-65 ft
Gannetts diving
Water quality- OK
Boarded by Coast Guard while trolling; good group of guys and a gal (all was OK) One of the guys was writing up a report and sitting on the gunnel, another coastie asked Lou to hit the horn. First guy didn't hear the request, and when the horn went off, he almost jumped out of the boat. Everyone on the Coast Guard boat tried to keep from laughing, we, on the other hand, weren't so successful.
Saw the MFRSS guy at Sandy Point

It's either MFRSS or MRFSS
It's one of the "official" studies being done to equate rockfish catch vs fishing effort (perhaps someone else might explain it better). But it was one of the only pieces of "data" used to help place restrictions on PSCR.

We spoke for several minutes at the dock.

I asked him what was more damaging to the rock population; illegal poaching by netters or C/R? I asked him what's more damaging; C/K with rock in the cooler, or C/R? I asked him if he knew of any other state along the east coast that restricts C/R?

Then I told him why I wasn't particapating in his "study".

Jamie; When I saw you responded to my post, I was sure I was going to see where you highlighted the word "Metapeake" and then wrote "unbelievable" or "spot burner".

If I had known there was going to be 18 boats at the "secret place", I would have taken the 46 Markley down and cleared some out of your way.

Turned into a very pretty day from about 11am to 3 pm. Winds calmed down, sun came out, fish were biting (oops).

We got Lou's new Lowrance HDS 7 tuned in and he loves it. That was our main objective today.

Marty...glad you got FF tuned in...I would've loved to have had that 46 markley today...I wouldv'e run right down the middle with deisel's blastin' and got back my .50 jighead...

BTW I think I read once where you really can't "spot burn" a trolling spot...but I'm not a very well informed troller so this is "hear-say".....

It's Matapeake. Not Metapeake.

Coasties looking for a Grady?

The word is out that they are checking for charter tickets.

It's good not to give any info to MRFSS. Next year will be perch only.

Transducer positioning seemed fine. Lou now knows how to do 5 things out of the 100 things it does. If he learns 5 more, he will know all I know.

Rob, thanks for installing it for him.
