Default New to site

Hi folks,

I've visited this site alot over years. I am from NW PA, spend most of my time trying to put my kids on big steelheads and brown in the Lake Erie tributaries. My business is expanding closer to the Bay and I finally will get several weekends to fish with my kids on the Bay and tribs. I parked my Lake Erie boat four years ago and my kids have been having alot more fun wading with a fly rod or kayak fishing. We also love to surf fish.

Any tips at all you can give me on putting my kids on fish starting with early season fishing in March would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome aboard.

The bay is humungous and you'll find thousands of places to fish, and dozens of ways to fish. Depends a lot on where on the bay you'll be.

You can have some fun at Beachwood Park catching White and Yellow Perch, Pickerel and Bluegill on a fly rod, spinning rod, or just floating a minnow under a bobber. That's on the western shore way up in the Magothy River.

You could book a preseason charter to troll for big Stripers.

Welcome.. Boy you are way the F up in Pennsylvania Goodness.

Your website is mildly intriguing also.

Nothing really to add that hasn't been said..

If you like to deep drop, park car mid way on Bay Bridge.. Put hazzards on, just for the hell of it and drop a line in. Suggest a very stout rod, and a nice 16 ounce weight. Two hook set up.

I'd say you have about 15 minutes before you get arrested.. But what the hell.

Welcome !

The bay and its rivers make for tremendously different fishing environments. The further up the bay and/or the farther up a river you go, the less salty the water and so different species - from bluefish to largemouth. In general there are also more species available the further south you go toward tidewater VA.

Public shore access is limited compared to how much shore there actually is but the kayaks give you a lot of flexibility on location. Depending on weather and wind, day trips from Sandy Point park at the Bay Bridge vertical jigging rockfish is a possibility. On smaller water, casting lures along shoreline in sheltered river locations will catch white perch if not other species and is likely to make for good fishing action. There really is a lot more opportunity than these simple suggestions, once you focus in on what you want to do and look into it more.
