Default Possible fatal boat accident 2/21

Details are still coming in but appears a boat hit a marker in bay and there may be someone killed.

Some rumors have two people who died.

Trying to find solid info - TV report.

That's sad. I hope it is a false report. I hate to see anyone lose their life on the bay.

If it is true, prayers to their families.

Sad to report - looks true.

Channel 11 news at 5 pm said one man died , two others hurt.

Happened about 8 am on Sunday morning. Report is they hit a green three legged channel marker off Aberdeen. Another boat in area helped rescue them.

Feds will help investigate since parts of that area are theirs.

Heard a name but will wait until confirmed. Imagine the morning paper will have better details. News was only about one minute.

Here's a copy.

ABERDEEN, Md. -- A man is dead and two others are seriously injured after a boating accident in Baltimore County.

At about 8 a.m. Sunday, the fishermen crossed into an area of the Gunpowder River patrolled by Aberdeen Proving Ground and hit a buoy-like object in the water.

Another boater discovered the injured fishermen and towed them to shore near Essex. One of the men was pronounced dead at Franklin Square Hospital, and the two other men continued to recover Monday at area hospitals. They were last listed in critical and serious conditions, and the extent of their injuries was unknown.

While the accident remains under investigation Monday, officials said they don't suspect the fishermen of any wrongdoing.

The Army's criminal investigation command will oversee the investigation because of the accident's location.

I hope this was just poor reporting and not the actual event.

Towed them to Essex?

This should provoke another conversation entirely.
