Nice video! That was a great morning. I was done there that windy afternoon. Dragging 17 lines, we only caught 2 fish (one of which was released by the net!) so really only 1.

How long are your leaders?? They look to be 20'+. I only run 6' on the heavy and 12' on the light one.

Jeff,

I took the lazy way and bought all of my tandems pre-rigged and never actually measured them. That said, I think that they are in the 6/12' range. In the video it may seem like they are longer as I am leadering the fish because I put the rod in the holder with the 3-way sometimes 6-8 feet from the rod tip, so I am "leadering" 8' of main line + 12' of leader = 20'. I am going to check to see how long the long leaders are next time out as you got me wondering now.

Jason

Oh, that makes more sense. Going for a little Dramatic effect or just trying to confuse those of us looking to steal a couple pointers??

It would actually be more dramatic if I reeled it in all the way up to the 3-way because then when I lift the rod tip up to put the rod in the holder the fish would come flying out of the water and bounce along the surface... I learned not to do that pretty quick.
