Default 7/13 Love Point

A little bumpy today but ran into the mouth of the Chester to hide from the south wind a little. Caught 2 fish- a 21" and a shorty on red hose with inline planers. Nothing on bucktails or spoonspreader. Maybe fished for an hour before the girls started changing colors to a hue of green that didn't look pleasant. Packed it up and back to the slip. Left Tolchester at 10 and returned by 12 so not a ton of time spent fishing. Hopefully they can come back another day when it is a little less bumpy.

PS- Red hose has been the ticket for me for the past few weeks. Normally I'm pulling nothing but tandems by now but the hoses seem to be working better.

Hoses are a real sleeper lure - guys who do well with them keep it quiet.

My dad and I did great on them in late 90's - water quality was better then and Rock would hold at 30-40 feet in 50-60 feet.

We used wire line and heavy weights but did very good. Not uncommon to have high 30 inchers in August.

Hoses still work - but skill to bend them has been lost by many.

Please do, sounds like fun. Wife and I are headed to Herrington Harbor South Thursday for the night and not sure where we are staying Friday night but might do a little fishing a little further down south. Maybe HH are something to think about...

Skip hit the nail on the head...If you dont know how to twist those hoses properly they just don't get it done...

The cheap hoses are not worth it either, you need a good solid hose that will keep the twist just right...

Whenever I have used them, red and green were the best colors by far...

When I am fishing in Montauck and hoses are still heavily used up there, red is the go to color but on most days its the action of the hose, not the color that gets the big fish...
